Game weekends and convention weeks leave no room for a dead walk-in

Downtown’s calendar drives a lot of kitchens. The SEC Championship is booked at Mercedes-Benz Stadium each December through at least 2031, and the Georgia World Congress Center, one of the country’s largest convention facilities, sits on the same campus. Hotels, caterers and restaurants stock up for those dates, and that’s the worst time to lose a cooler.

A trailer works two ways here. If you can see a big week coming, book one ahead and keep the extra product out of your main walk-in. If a cooler quits in the middle of it, call (404) 418-8290 and we’ll tell you what’s available. Every trailer can refrigerate or freeze, and our walk-in failure checklist covers the first hour.

A city festival needs a 90-day head start and a neighborhood meeting

Atlanta’s Office of Special Events wants outdoor festival applications 90 days before the first day of the event. Assemblies and large gatherings have a 30-day cutoff. The city says late applications will be denied, and that a missed deadline is the top reason applications get denied. Festival organizers also have to appear in person before the Neighborhood Planning Unit for the area, which sends the city its recommendation. An outdoor event or food truck gathering on private property can need a Special Administrative Permit, with its own 21-day NPU review. The city’s permitting process page walks through the steps.

Settle where the trailer goes while you’re laying out the site, since that’s when you’re already sorting out trucks, vendors and load-in. Caterers working a festival like the Atlanta Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park each April can plan the same way. Delivery the day before gives the trailer time to get cold before the first load goes in.

East Atlanta and Kirkwood answer to DeKalb’s health office

Most of Atlanta is in Fulton County, but the city crosses into DeKalb, and neighborhoods like East Atlanta and Kirkwood sit entirely on that side. Food permits follow the county, so check your event address before you hire vendors.

On the Fulton side, the county’s organizer packet asks for vendor applications 30 business days out, with double fees if they’re late. On the DeKalb side, Environmental Health asks organizers to reach out at least 30 days before a fair or festival. We cover both, and our Fulton County and DeKalb County pages have more.

Intown trailer spots start with the truck’s path

Intown addresses take some planning. A tenant at a food hall like Ponce City Market or Krog Street Market, or a restaurant on the ground floor of a mixed-use building, will need the property’s OK and a spot that works around shared loading areas. On an older block with a narrow alley or a small shared lot, think about the truck first: how it gets in, where it turns and how it gets back out.

We need a level spot our truck can reach, close to your door, with power from the building or a generator. Call or text (404) 418-8290 with the address and what you’re storing, and we’ll talk it through before delivery. Our site guide lists what to check.

Refrigerated trailer rental in Atlanta: FAQ

Is my Atlanta address under Fulton or DeKalb for food permits?

The county line decides it, and your event address tells you which side you’re on. Most of the city is in Fulton County, while East Atlanta and Kirkwood are two neighborhoods on the DeKalb side. If you’re close to the line, ask your venue or check the property’s county record before you file anything.

How early do I apply for an outdoor festival permit in Atlanta?

Ninety days before the first day of the event, and the city says late applications will be denied. You’ll also need to appear before the local Neighborhood Planning Unit, so start well before that deadline. The Office of Special Events FAQ has the details.

Can you bring a trailer to Ponce City Market or Krog Street Market?

That’s up to the property’s management, so ask them first which loading area or lot you can use. Then call (404) 418-8290 with what they told you. We need a level spot our truck can reach and a power source.

Do you cover the whole city?

Every Atlanta address, in both counties. Give us the address and what you’re storing, and we’ll tell you what’s available and what we need at the site.

Can I rent a freezer trailer in Atlanta?

Yes. Every one of our trailers can run as a refrigerator or a freezer. Tell us what you’re storing.
