Land the trailer before home-game traffic does
Home football Saturdays bring road closures around Sanford Stadium, and the county’s traffic plan steers vehicles away from campus and downtown toward the Loop. That’s no place to be backing in a trailer. Set delivery for Friday or earlier, which also gives it time to get cold, and plan the pick-up for after the weekend. Drop-offs and pick-ups happen between 8 AM and 6 PM.
A restaurant can use the space for the extra product a home weekend takes, and a caterer can stage tailgate trays in it. Rental length is flexible, so keep it for one game or through a run of them.

Commencement and AthFest fill the gaps between football
UGA’s fall commencement is December 11, 2026, in Stegeman Coliseum, and the spring ceremonies are May 7 and 8, 2027. Those weekends mean graduation dinners and family parties, and a house or rented hall rarely has the refrigerator space for a catered crowd. A 7’×12’ trailer in the driveway holds the trays, drinks and cake. Delivery the day before gives it time to get cold.
AthFest adds outdoor stages and a club crawl downtown each June, so vendors and venues working it should plan ahead too.
A late special event application costs $150 in Athens-Clarke
Central Services charges $25 for a special event application filed 60 days or more ahead and $150 inside that window. A food vendor that’s part of the event applies for its own solid waste permit, at least 30 days out. Events held entirely in a park or property run by Leisure Services go through that department instead. If you’re hoping for a festival zone, the ordinance doesn’t allow one on UGA home football game days, so pick your date with the schedule in hand.
The health side is separate. Northeast Health District covers Clarke County, and Georgia’s organizer form calls for your vendor list at least 30 days before the event. Book the trailer at the same time.
