What size refrigerated trailer do I need?
Quick answer
For most parties, small events and single walk-in cooler emergencies, a 7’×12’ is enough. Choose a 7’×14’ for larger events, multi-day catering or extra restaurant capacity. Choose a 7’×16’ for high-volume commercial storage, large-scale events and major breakdowns. All three can refrigerate or freeze.

Four questions that decide the size
- What are you storing? Cases and kegs pack tightly. Sheet pans, cakes and flower arrangements need shelf space and room to move.
- How much, compared with what you have now? If you’re replacing a walk-in, think in walk-ins. One cooler’s worth is a different job from a whole kitchen’s.
- For how long? Longer rentals tend to accumulate more product. Size up if the trailer will become your main storage for weeks.
- Where will it park? A smaller trailer is easier to place at tight locations.
