Temporary food permits here come from Cobb County Environmental Health, on County Services Parkway in Marietta, at 770-435-7815. At a for-profit event, the organizer files one application and every food vendor files another. The office needs both at least 30 days ahead, and a temporary operation can’t run past 14 consecutive days.
Events of 120 hours or less sponsored by a nonprofit, the county or a city fall outside those applications. Each booth fills out a vendor information record instead, the county or city is your contact, and the health department inspects only if that government asks. That’s a real break for community and faith groups running a fundraiser, but the food still needs a cold place to wait. A trailer behind the booths holds the backstock so volunteers aren’t digging through melting ice.
Truist Park, The Battery and the rest of the Cumberland area sit outside any city, and so do plenty of other Cobb addresses. There, the Cobb County Police Department handles special event permits, even for events that need a lane or road closed. The signed application is due at least 14 days before the event, which is a much shorter clock than the health department’s, so let the food deadline set your schedule.
Inside a city, that city’s rules take over, and they vary. We’ve laid out the local details on our Marietta, Smyrna and Kennesaw pages.
Around The Battery Atlanta, a kitchen is usually part of a managed property, so the first call when a walk-in fails is to the property manager about where a trailer can sit. Shopping center restaurants in East Cobb and along the Cobb Parkway corridor have the same conversation about shared lots. Out toward Austell, Powder Springs and Mableton, ask whether your own lot has a level stretch our truck can reach.
Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta is the county’s big event ground. The North Georgia State Fair took it over from September 24 to October 4 in 2026, and the rest of the year it rents for trade shows, festivals, car shows, banquets and reunions. Its event hall has a full-service kitchen for banquets, and if your guest list needs more cold space than that, a trailer outside can carry the overflow. Parking areas there go with the space you rent, so ask the park which spot is yours to use. Then call or text (404) 418-8290 and we’ll talk through site and power.
